WHILE YOU'RE HERE...

Low Shaw Farmhouse is situated at Simonstone, 1 mile north of Hawes in Upper Wensleydale. In the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, which is famed for its beautiful rivers and waterfalls. Hardraw Force is a short walk from the house, and Gayle Beck and Aysgarth Falls are well worth a visit. Situated directly on the Tour de France Yorkshire route and The Pennine Way there are numerous routes for walking and cycling direct from the door. Alternatively, there are exciting drives over Buttertubs Pass into Swaledale and over the fell towards Buckden.

Hawes is home to the famous Wensleydale Creamery, charming local pubs, art galleries, antique shops, the Dales Countryside Museum and the home of Wallace and Gromit! Gayle Mill, a perfectly restored textile mill, has a visitor centre and offers regular craft courses. Bolton Castle is a superbly preserved example of a medieval castle. Maps, walking books and information on local visitor attractions can all be found in the hall.

The pretty south facing garden is the perfect place to sit back and admire spectacular views across the Dale and River Ure towards the village of Hardraw. There are beautiful pathways in every direction from the house offering hills to climb, villages to explore and river walks to discover. Situated just below Low Shaw is Simonstone Hall, renowned for fine dining, while Hardraw and Hawes offer a range of quirky pubs, shops and restaurants. Or perhaps just enjoy relaxing, reading and reclining in the garden arbor seat whilst waiting for the barbeque.

From Low Shaw you're perfectly situated to not only explore the Dales but the nearby Lake District too. The Cumbrian border is only 15 miles away and the popular Lake District town of Kendal is 25 miles west.
